Family reunification and special procedure for minors
The family reunification process allows foreign nationals legally residing in Spain to bring their immediate family members (spouses, minor children, or dependent ascendants) to Spain. The procedure requires adequate proof of sufficient financial resources and a suitable housing report. The person to be reunited must be in their country of origin or residence (outside of Spain) at the time of application and must not be in an irregular situation in Spain.
For minors, in addition to the standard family reunification procedure, Spanish immigration law provides a special route that allows them to regularize their immigration status while they are already in Spain, without having to leave Spanish territory in order to submit the application.
